Yum, yum, yum!
It’s pretty difficult to dine out anywhere in Providence, R.I. without uttering these words. In fact, with so many delicious options for foodies of all varieties, it can be somewhat overwhelming trying to decide where to eat.
My favorite restaurant on Federal Hill, the city’s “Little Italy,” is Zooma Trattoria, a gem of a place that never disappoints.
Everything on the menu is made fresh-to-order, from the La Caprese antipasti (above) to scrumptious Neapolitan pizza, unbelievable entrees and can’t-resist desserts.
I first discovered Zooma, as its known to locals, on a press trip several years ago. The ever-present and friendly general manager Armando Bigsceglia is himself the genius behind the trattoria’s exceptionl wine list, which is tops among the Italian restaurants that line Federal Hill.
Perfect for a meal any day or night of the week, Zooma also offers a $14.95 three-course “executive” lunch Monday through Friday for those businesses lunches that require an elegant touch, monthly wine dinners and many other special events.
Zooma also is perfect for a first-date drink or an after-work cocktail. It’s the first restaurant I recommend to visitors and newbies to Providence’s restaurant scene and it’s quickly become a favorite among them!
